On the other hand = por otro lado / por el contrario (2025)

Hola, la expresión "on the other hand" se usa para añadir una opinión más cualquiera y se traduce "por otro lado" o se usa para añadir opiniones o ideas contrarias a la utilizada anteriormente y se traduce como "por el contrario"

creo que se puede usar de las 2 formas, igual que en español usamos "por un lado" y "por otro lado".

cuando se usa por sí sola, entoces se pueden encadenar 2 conceptos/opciones.

si el anterior va precedido de "on the one hand", entonces "on the other hand" podría referirse al "opuesto" o a alguna alternativa.

Hola, sé que " on the other hand" singnifica, por otro lado, o, por otra parte...

pero se puede usar tambien para decir. "por el contrario..." me gustaria aclararlo porque, los dos conceptos no quieren decir lo mismo ( por otra parte, por el contrario)

o hay una frase especifica para decir " por el contrario..." es decir, estoy equivocada al pensar que " on the other hand..." puede singnificar "por el contrario?

Sí usaría "on the other hand" así:
I don't know if I want to go out with Joe. On the one hand, he's rich and generous, but on the other hand, he's boring.

siento ser tan pesada o tan insistente, pero quiero que me quede claro. Entonces, la frase se puede traducir así:

No sé si quiero salir con Joe. Por una parte, es rico y generoso pero, por el contrario, es aburrido.

es correcto?

Has captado el sentido del original, pero yo no pondría "por el contrario" allí, sino "por otra parte".
