A shocking revelation has emerged from the Selangor State Health Department (JKNS), shedding light on the recent food poisoning outbreak at a government agency's Family Day event. The culprit? Contaminated food and dirty cooking equipment.
Imagine this: a fun-filled day at a Petaling Jaya theme park turns into a nightmare for over 800 staff and their families. Diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pain became the order of the day, affecting 322 out of 4,710 attendees (a staggering 6.8%!). But here's where it gets controversial...
The investigation revealed a series of factors contributing to this incident. A small team of handlers preparing large quantities of food, prolonged food storage before serving, and potential cross-contamination during cooking all played a part. As a result, JKNS took swift action, ordering the closure of the kitchen for thorough cleaning and disinfection. However, the theme park itself remained open, as the contamination was not linked to the park's general environment.
